'Tis midnight and from somewhere in the depths of the lab, soft scratchings can be heard. Dr Klein lifts his head and frowns for a moment, then smiles. One of the labrats must be trying to make it's nest a little more comfortable. He goes back to work, immersed in the complexities of super-string theory and its potential application to the mysteries of Superman's solar charging ...
The labrat breathes a sigh of relief, and quietly - oh so quietly - smooths the sheets of paper out. Almost got caught that time! Licking the ballpoint pen she 'found' during one of her unauthorised excursions into the lab, the labrat starts to write again.
