What I'm reading: Myself with Others: Selected Essays (Carlos Fuentes) - this is a collection of essays by one of Mexico's best authors. The themes are fairly general, but centre around literature, politics and love. All of Fuentes' books are interesting - and among my favourites - and this collection is no exception. The essay format makes it ideal to carry around as emergency reading material for planes, trains and other hold-ups.

Websites I'm looking at: Virtual Voyager Season 8 - I have to confess that I'm one of the writers for this, but I've only written one of the episodes! Picking up where Star Trek: Voyager finished, the virtual series is written by fans for fans, trying to keep it reasonably plausiable within canon. It's a unique event in Trek fanfic.

What I'm listening to: Guru Mother, by Opus III. Heaven on a CD. Opus III was probably the most under-appreciated group in electronic dance music in the '90s. They had one hit with a cover of 'It's a Fine Day', but all the songs on this CD are better even than Fine Day (although, if you can find the ATB remix of Fine Day, grab it. It's brilliant!). I particularly like 'Dreaming of Now', the first track on this CD - it's incandescent, and Kirsty Hawkshaw has the most stunning voice.
