Report by Rita

I got home last late night after driving 6 hours from Atlanta and am still recovering physically and mentally. It was a fantastic trip. I met lots of wonderful people, many of whom I had already met on the net. They were even more wonderful in person than I had thought they would be and I look forward to meeting them again at future Cons. The first thing I did this morning was to mail Joe a check for Baltimore and the second thing was to tell my hubby that I needed a plane ticket. He didn't object just looked at me sort of funny.

Before I tell about Robert I want to tell everyone that doesn't already know that the NDSS donation reached a total of $800. I believe that this is the largest amount to be donated in Robert's name for NDSS. If I'm wrong please correct me.

OK, now for the good stuff. Robert looked wonderful, gorgeous, sexy, young, tall, lean and much, much more. BTW, his nose is beautiful, it is not perfect. It tilts to one side and has a slight hump, probably caused from being broked playing football in high school. I'm just guessing here so please don't quote me. Diane's right about the smell, just wonderfully clean male skin, no cologne. Sorry Rosie, I didn't get a chance to taste him for you. When he hugged and then kissed me, I remembered to hug back but not to kiss back, and with the second hug I didn't get the chance to kiss him. Darn!

When asked about his background, Robert told us that his grandparents on both sides of his family were from northern Mexico and that his mother(I believe he said that she turned 78 just after the Fourth of July) was born in Mesa, Arizona and his father(now deceased) in Bakersfield, California.

Robert is the seventh of ten children and was born in Bakersfield.

Robert was funny, friendly and seemed genuinely concerned about his fans. No new info about Voyager or relationships that I heard. I may have missed something though because for the first half of Saturday's presentation I don't think I could hear. I was trying to get called on so that I could tell him about the donation being made to the National Downs Syndrome Society by his on-line fans. He seemed to be really touched by the donation and told the audience that he has a younger brother with DS. When the Klingons heard this they passed a box for an additional donation collecting $239(not many people can refuse on Klingon in battle dress with weapons). The on-line fans donated $561, making the total $800.

A group of on-line fans had made plans to meet at the Con and get to know each other in person. Someone had said that we were "Lots of computer literate women with two months to plan," and then added GHPMB(God Help Poor Mr. B!). These words became our motto and someone, one of the Terri's I think, had a banner made up with this words on it. We also each had a button with these words and a Hershey's kiss. When I told Robert about the donation, pointed out the banner to him and explained what it meant he cracked up.

Robert told about being picked up at the airport by 6 Klingons speaking southern. It was hilarious. He was very open with the audience and did not avoid any questions.

After autograph signing on Sunday he posed for pictures with as many fans as wanted before leaving for the airport. Robert did a great job keeping everyone entertained even though he was exhausted. He had arrived sometime Saturday morning, I believe around 10:30 and only got to sleep a couple of hours before starting the Q and A and had had nothing to eat.

There is so much more that I could write forever about this Con. It was wonderful. Richard Biggs was also there and did a terrific job. He is also a very funny and talented man, as well as good looking. I went to see Robert and he is my favorite actor anywhere, but Richard is worth going to see at a Con. The audience could feel the energy exuded by this man.
